LIDAR

LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is a remote sensing technology that can measure distances but using light technology, which is often used by a laser.  This LIDAR map is of New Orleans flooding after Hurricane Katrina.  By looking at this map, this technology is able to show where the deepest flooding is taking place.
